So I really need a pair of hiking shoes. Getting caught on the side of a slippery mountain in crocks is NOT a pretty sight. I think my former running shoes must have fallen off the moving truck.
In an effort to clothe my feet and still feed my family, I checked with friends and family to see if anyone had a spare set of shoes collecting dust from the closet and not the mountains! No luck. Hmm, I began to wonder and ponder with God - where are these shoes going to come from. I need them, can't afford them, what do you have up your sleeve this time?
My sister came to visit for Easter and we took the kids to a Easter Egg Pancake Breaky and Hunt. It was awesome! The kids even made it in the newspaper! They had a clothing room for everyone to come and browse and take what they needed. Tanya went in first and came out with 3 items for everyone. I wasn't going to go in as she is always the best at picking the best finds. But I had a few extra moments on my way to the car to drop off loot that we had been collecting. I decided to take a quick peek at the shirts. I found a couple then went on my way. As I left the room I saw a lady leaving as well with dress shoes in her bag. "Oh God - I didn't even check the SHOES!!! How could I be so silly. I'm pretty positive you have a pair of hikers there for me!" And wouldn't you know it
there was. Well - there was one perfect shoe. The second one was hidden, I had to search for it, but I found it. Tried them on, they were a perfect fit, brand new, never seen the mountains.
"Thanks God - that was ingenious and to think I just about missed it!!" I was smiling all the way up Knox Mountain that afternoon :)
